| | Where to go, according to TPG's travel experts | | by Lyndsey Matthews, Senior editor destinations | | | If you've already given up on your 2026 New Year's resolutions, I have a new one that should be much easier to make good on: Stop hoarding points for "someday" and book that trip.
For inspiration, look no further than TPG's list of the most exciting places to visit in 2026.
TPG's staff of expert travelers and global network of contributors compiled a list of 17 destinations to visit this year. And let me tell you, this list has it all.
Major global (and cosmic!) events. Milestone anniversaries. New flight routes. Fancy points hotels. Fascinating cultural sights. There's something for everyone.
But I'm not just preaching from my desk chair. I already have a trip to Philadelphia scheduled this summer to catch the Croatia versus Ghana match during the FIFA World Cup. While I'm there, I look forward to using my American Express Resy credits at one of the city's newly minted Michelin-star restaurants.
Destinations farther afield are becoming more accessible, too, thanks to exciting new transportation options and fabulous points hotels. Uzbekistan now has its first luxury Marriott property and unveiled new high-speed rail connections, while the Peruvian Amazon will see several new cruise ships plying its waters this year.
You can also use your frequent flyer miles on American Airlines' revived direct route from the U.S. to Prague, for instance, or spend those hard-earned hotel points on nights at the just-opened Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur or any of the new all-inclusive resorts in Miches, Dominican Republic.
As you use your points and miles to get these trips off your vision board and on your calendar, share your experiences with us in the year ahead. Happy travels!
Lyndsey
