| | A rare points showdown is underway on two of the most popular business credit cards: - The Business Platinum Card® from American Express has an elevated welcome offer letting you earn 200,000 Membership Rewards® points after spending $20,000 in the first three months of card membership.
Based on TPG's October 2025 valuations, those bonuses are each worth a staggering $4,000 or more. But which is the better card for you?
If you love to travel for work and/or pleasure, it’s tough to beat the travel perks of the Business Platinum Card®. Here's the full list, but some of my favorites are: - An annual airline fee statement credit of up to $200 for charges by the airline you select each calendar year
- Worldwide lounge access (I love the Centurion Lounge at London’s Heathrow Airport!)
- Hilton Honors™ Gold Status and Marriott Bonvoy® Gold Elite Status, plus now there's Leaders Club Sterling Status from The Leading Hotels of the World® (enrollment required)
- Avis Preferred, Hertz Gold Plus Rewards and National Emerald Club rental car status (enrollment may be required)
On the other hand, if you're looking to maximize your points earning, the Sapphire Reserve for Business has terrific earning rates — especially on travel.
And if you're a business owner with advertising expenses, then the uncapped 3 points per dollar spent on social media and search engine advertising really stands out against the competition.
So which points are better to redeem, Amex points or Chase points? Both have fantastic airline and hotel partner transfer options, with regular transfer bonuses available. I have a slight preference for Chase points because they transfer to what I believe is the world's best hotel loyalty program: World of Hyatt. But I certainly wouldn't say no to 200,000 Amex points either!
If you're looking for a new card or just a big pile of valuable points, these two enormous 200,000-point welcome offers are definitely worth checking out.
