| | A few of our favorite things | | by Augusta Stone, Credit cards writer | | | I'm all about creating comfortable spaces any time I travel, whether I'm flying in a cramped economy seat or soaking up spacious business class.
All of us here at TPG have a collection of favorite travel items. If you'll be packing a carry-on (or checking a bag) soon, you'll want to check out our picks.
First, allow me to introduce you to my personal must-haves from Amazon: - Power bank: There are many options, but this one is compact and lightweight for easy portability.
- Compression socks: My long-haul-flight fashion statement. I won't fly more than four hours without them.
- Apple AirTags: I can't say enough about how much peace of mind they've given me. Whether I check my bag up front or intend to carry on and end up gate-checking, I'm less worried with AirTags.
- TSA-approved toiletry bag: Keep everything organized and within the Transportation Security Administration’s parameters.
- Ginger chews: These have saved the day — and my stomach — when unexpected rough air causes nausea.
- Microfiber towel headband: These are usually intended for a spa day, but I can't fly a red-eye without wrapping this thick headband over my ears. I love to wear earbuds, and if I fall asleep on a plane, they're likely to fall out. With this trick, my earbuds fall into the headband instead of onto the floor.
My colleagues chimed in with some of their favorites, too: - Packing cubes: A lot of us use these, and there are multiple choices out there. These are on the less expensive side and work well.
- World travel adapter: This one covers almost every country and has multiple ports to charge more than one device.
- AirFly: Say goodbye to the pesky wired headphones. With this, inflight entertainment connects via Bluetooth to your earbuds or headphones.
