$1,000-plus offers abound by Katie Genter, Lead writer Credit card welcome bonuses are how I earn the vast majority of my points and miles. Sure, I earn some from stays, flights and the bonus categories on my cards. However, welcome bonuses account for most of the points I earn on cards — including those I frequently use for purchases. So, take some time before the end of the year — now is a great time, actually — to consider what new rewards cards you could add to your wallet. Luckily, several cards are currently offering welcome bonuses worth more than $1,000 based on TPG's December 2025 valuations. For example, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card has a limited-time welcome offer of 100,000 bonus miles after you spend $10,000 on purchases in the first six months from account opening. That's 25,000 miles higher than the typical offer on this card, and worth $1,850 per our valuations. And the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card has a welcome offer of 75,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. That's 15,000 points higher than it was earlier this year, and worth $1,538 per our valuations. This is a great deal on a card with a low annual fee.
