Top stories of the week by Colin Hogan, Newsletter editor In rare fashion for a Sunday, we're kicking off today's missive with some exciting breaking news. Citi is launching a new premium travel rewards card, the Citi Strata Elite℠ Card, to rival the likes of The Platinum Card® from American Express and Chase Sapphire Reserve®. It's got some highly compelling earning rates worth checking out, and that's not even the biggest news here. That's because Citi also announced that holders of this card, the Citi Strata Premier® Card and the discontinued (but still in use by some) Citi Prestige® Card can now transfer their ThankYou Rewards points to American Airlines AAdvantage — making Citi the exclusive credit card transfer partner of that highly valuable program. In the meantime, here are some of the big stories you might have missed last week: Airlines We got to hop on the delivery flight of Etihad Airways’ hotly anticipated Airbus A321LR, a single-aisle jet with lie-flat first-class and business-class pods. Credit cards Southwest Airlines made sweeping changes to each of its Chase cobranded credit cards amid its broader changes to the Rapid Rewards loyalty program.
