Top stories of the week by Sean Cudahy, Senior writer Happy Sunday morning from North Carolina's Outer Banks, where I'm beating the crowds and the sticker shock with a late-summer getaway. I wanted to share some stories that caught my eye this week. The airline world is buzzing as Spirit Airlines faces an uncertain future: This week, JetBlue seized an opportunity at Spirit's home airport, announcing a bunch of new flights to the Caribbean, Central America and South America. Meanwhile, a lot of flyers are rightly asking, "What are my rights?" after the Trump administration canceled cash compensation for flight delays. Here's what you should know before your next flight. If you fly Southwest Airlines this fall, you may be in for a pleasant surprise — one that (for now) won't cost you a huge haul of extra cash or points.
